As Dustin Poirier and Justin Gaejthe prepare to collide at UFC 291 to determine who the UFC’s baddest mother f***** is, “The Diamond” has issued Nate Diaz a stern warning if he’s to return to the UFC.
After his fourth round submission victory over Tony Ferguson at UFC 279, the Stockton native used his time on the mic with Joe Rogan to confirm that he feels there’s some business to take care of outside the organization, but intends to be back.
That business came apparent just weeks later. The 38-year-old will now fight Jake Paul, 26, in a boxing bout that will be contested over 10 rounds in Dallas on August 5th.
Despite being days away from competing for the UFC’s BMF belt, Poirier continues to have Diaz on the tip of his tongue.
The pair were set to collide at UFC 230 in Maddison Square Garden. However, terms could not be agreed. Speaking ahead of UFC 291, Poirier has issued Diaz a warning for his potential return.
“Like I always say, I don’t look too far ahead and book myself in fights that aren’t even realistic or a possibility, until other things happen.
“If he (Nate Diaz) comes back, I’ll beat him up.”
